Valkyrie Is Mercy’s New Ultimate In Overwatch

Recommended Videos

Blizzard is making a major change to one of Overwatch’s founding members. It turns out Mercy’s skillset will experience some alterations. Due to concerns that her original Ultimate, Resurrect, is too powerful, it is being turned into a secondary ability. She will be getting a new Ultimate called Valkyrie in its place.

The change was noted in the latest Hero Balance Update video. Previously, Resurrect would revive every fallen character on your team at once. As a secondary ability, it will only work on one character and have a long cooldown. The new Ultimate, Valkyrie, will temporarily let her fly, extend the reach of her healing and damaging beams, have a shorter cooldown on Resurrect, increase the strength of Caduceus Blaster, and allow her to be able to fly to the aid of heroes further away. This means her new moveset will have Guardian Angel and Resurrect as abilities, as well as Caduceus Blaster and Staff as her weapon.

Overwatch is available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
