The Vanillaware action-RPG Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Muramasa: Rebirth is returning for a third time on even more platforms. Muramasa: Revenant Blades showed up at the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, and it is headed to the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC in 2027. Physical and digital copies will appear. However, the Switch 2 physical will be $10 more at $59.99, but will be the full game and not a game-key card.
Muramasa: The Demon Blade first showed up on the Wii. Eventually, a Vita version called Muramasa Rebirth appeared. That included four additional stories with new characters. This updated release will include both the base game with Momohime and Kisuke’s stories and the additional Arashimaru, Gonbe, Okoi, and Rajaki ones at launch.
Here is the first Muramasa: Revenant Blades trailer showing how the Vanillaware game looks following its previous appearances with the The Demon Blade and Rebirth subtitles.
There will be a physical limited edition, with the Switch and PS5 versions being $89.99 and Switch 2 one with full game on cart for $99.99. That comes with a byobu folding screen and soundtrack CD.
Muramasa: Revenant Blades will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC in 2027.
