Varka Joins Genshin Impact as a Playable Character in Luna V Update

HoYoVerse confirmed the on-assignment Knights of Favonius Grand Master Varka will finally become a playable character in Genshin Impact rather soon. He’ll be part of the Luna V update. We don’t know exactly which phase his banner will be part of, but we do know he will arrive after the patch on February 25, 2026.

The one announcement tied to Varka’s debut went over what we can expect from him. He’s the Knight of Boreas. His element is Anemo, so expect wind damage and attacks that Swirl with other elements. That announcement also confirmed his ties to Venti, the Anemo Archon that is in Mondstadt, and the Hexenzirkel mages. The art shows him hold a sword, which is the larger claymore-type variety. 

The second post, which you can see below, highlights the official Varka Genshin Impact character art. It highlights his preparations for his journey out of Mondstadt and to Nod-Krai, noting he’s an errant knight on a mission.

The latest characters in Luna IV are Columbina and Zibai. 

Genshin Impact is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices, and we can expect to see Varka in the Luna V update after February 25, 2026.
