NIS America shared a roadmap that shows the developer will continue to update horror farming game Village in the Shade after launch with DLC and free patch content like more animals as livestock options and extra scenario and story events. The first two of these new additions will appear at launch and be free. It also shared a trailer teasing music found on the Sounds from the Shade two-CD soundtrack in the Village in the Shade Limited Edition.
The Village in the Shade roadmap consists of two free content update patches and one paid DLC release. The launch day additions will appear for the North American and European release at the same time, though in Japan one appeared ahead of the other. The September 29, 2026 Patch 1 free release added what looks like four new kinds of livestock animals such as a Silkie chicken, duck, and cow, an option to get more farmland, and a furniture catalog and more furniture. The October 27, 2026 adds a birthday event for the player character and unspecified “new features.” The paid DLC won’t show up until 2027. That’s the one that adds a new story scenario with “a new area, new mechanics, and unique events.”
There’s a teaser image for that update:
As for the Village in the Shade soundtrack teaser, here’s the trailer for Sounds from the Shade.
Village in the Shade will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PC on October 27, 2026, the first free content update will appear at launch, DLC will debut in 2027, and the Sounds from the Shade soundtrack is in the Limited Edition.
