Kendo Crush is a light-hearted slice-of-life visual novel that aims to be absolutely free for anyone to download and play. But first, it needs to get made by devs PixelFade Studio, with a Kickstarter project running now that could use a little help. There’s also a demo available on the Kickstarter page.
The sports-themed game stars you and your younger sister up and moving from America to Japan’s countryside town of Isokaze. It isn’t quite so quiet, though, when in short order, the resident school bully ends up brawling it out with you. Sadly, that gets you stuck with an unfortunate image as a delinquent. Which kind of makes following the school’s mandatory policy of joining a club a wee problem. Well, except for one of them. No prizes on which it is.
The game, once made, will be available for free for anyone to download, and will be fully voice acted. One of the voice actors, Lee Turner, actually did a bit of voice acting for love potion visual novel The Guardian’s Spell which we’ve previously covered as well. Kendo Crush! will of course have a variety of endings, “dynamic” relationships with “impactful” choices and fluid gameplay. All of this on HD 1920×1080 art. There is also, proudly proclaim the devs, “an abundance of fanservice.”
Kendo Crush! has 20 days left on Kickstarter, but is currently woefully short of its goals. You can back it here.
