Illumination has announced another delay for its upcoming PC VR girlfriend game, VR-Kanojo. People who want to play VR-Kanojo must now wait further until the Summer season of 2025.
This new game will be based on the hyphen-less VR Kanojo released by the now defunct studio Illusion. Players of the game will be able to interact with the heroine, Sakura Yuhi. Illumination originally set Winter 2024 as the release window, which was then narrowed down to February 2025. But in the middle of the month, the studio announced the first delay to late April 2025.
Earlier in April 2025, Illumination published a trailer that also specified April 24, 2025, as the full release date for the title. However, comments for the video pointed out that the upcoming title’s graphics look worse, even when compared to the original VR Kanojo. Illumination took the feedback seriously, and after having careful discussions internally, the studio decided to take more time to improve the graphical quality of VR-Kanojo by delaying it to Summer 2025.
VR-Kanojo will be available worldwide for PC via Steam in the Summer season of 2025. Illumination will announce a new release date for the VR game at a later time.
