Watch: Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings battle footage

I spent a little time playing Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings yesterday, just enough to try out the combat system. The game starts with Vaan and a tutorial pops up that explains how to make him attack a flan. Instead of selecting commands from a menu you poke Vaan with the stylus then poke the flan to make him start swinging his sword. After the fight with the flan, Vaan meets up with Penelo who acts a support character in combat, by automatically casting cure. When you need to select multiple characters you draw a box with the stylus and then point to the area where you want the characters to move on the touch screen. The video only shows the touch screen, since that’s where the action takes place. On the unseen top screen is a map of the area with upcoming enemies highlighted in red.
