We like robots and so it isn’t too surprising that we’re curious about Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation. The Super Robot Taisen series is one of the biggest series in Japan, but it never hit Western shores. After fifteen years Atlus decides to pick up the mecha strategy series and release Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation. One of the main problems for not releasing the game outside of Japan is licensing. Mecha from a variety of series like Gundam, Evangelion, Macross and Escaflowne appear in the Super Robot Taisen series which makes it difficult for so many companies to come to an agreement. Instead of using known mecha, Original Generation has its own mecha designs. This allowed Atlus to localize the game for North America. The first Super Robot Taisen game comes out in June (this month!) with the second game coming out later this year. If you’re a strategy RPG fan or just love giant robots check the trailer below.
