This year, there will be a Pokemon commercial aired during Super Bowl 50, but people don’t have to wait until February 7, 2016 to see it. The 1 minute, ten second spot has been released via The Official Pokémon Channel.
The Pokémon Super Bowl commercial focuses on two messages. The first is, “I can do this,” spoken by a number of people around the world as they commit to the Pokémon trainer lifestyle. It closes with a battle between two trainers in a major arena, being watched by a child. his father, and his Pikachu from the comforts of home. That’s when the final message, “Train on,” appears. It closes with the 20th anniversary logo and a link to Pokemon20.com.
A number of Pokémon releases are happening this year as part of the series’ 20th anniversary celebration. Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow will receive Virtual Console releases on Nintendo 3DS eShop on February 27, 2016. The Charizard, Greninja, Jigglypuff, and Lucario amiibo are going to be rereleased around that time. Also, Pokken Tournament will come to the Nintendo Wii U on March 18. Pokémon Go is also expected on Apple iOS and Android devices this year.
