Watch the rebirth of .hack

Previously we spent some time at E3 playing with .hack//G.U. Rebirth. Unlike the past dot hack series, G.U. is an all new take on the virtual MMORPG called the world. This time around the interactivity between the player and the simulated online RPG is ramped up. You can form guilds, communicate “offline” and of course hack the system. There’s also new art design and an enhanced battle system. .hack is still based off an action RPG system, but this time when you run into enemies you’re placed into an arena to square off in. By switching weapons on the fly players can structure new types of combos. Another feature that was kind of fun to play with was the motorcycle. Sure you can walk up to monsters to engage in combat or you can plow into them, which is surprisingly entertaining. Check the trailer below to get a sense of how .hack//G.U. Rebirth is progressing.
