Last week in Japan, things were slow in video game hardware and software sales without any new and exciting releases, but that didn’t stop Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from topping Famitsu’s weekly sales chart.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate recently reached the 3 million milestone in Japanese sales and it doesn’t look like it is slowing down as it charted #1 with 8,662 units sold in the week for a total of 3,094,161 units sold via retail in Japan. Minecraft for Switch followed at #2 with 7,451 units sold, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at #3 with 7,193 units sold.

There were two new entries in the week with Resident Evil Origins Collection for Switch at #8 with 4,081 units sold, and Assassin’s Creed III Remastered at #10 with 3,767 units sold on the PS4.

In hardware sales, the PlayStation 4 sold 5,562 units plus an addition 4,080 PS4 Pros for a total of 9,642 units in the week. The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console with 25,936 units sold in the week.
