This event will notably take place at Makuhari Messe, the same venue that has been hosting the annual Tokyo Game Show. The latter has also been listed as one of the event partners on the official website of the original Chinese WePlay Expo event. But while the flagship gaming event of Japan has been utilizing the entire venue, the first iteration of the Japanese WePlay Expo will only use Halls 5 and 6 at the venue’s center.

The organizers have opened an official website for this event, and it is also available in English. It teases that this event will feature booths with hands-on demo builds for upcoming games, presentation and tournament stages, and merchandise shops, among others.

The first WePlay Expo Japan will take place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on April 2-4, 2027. The first day on Friday will be reserved as a business day, while the other two weekend days will be available as public days.
