Diablo IV Hardcore Mode

What Is the Safest Class for Diablo IV Hardcore Mode?

Hardcore mode in Diablo IV presents an age old challenge for returning Diablo players and something new for those looking to jump into something more difficult. It offers two different types of game modes, one being Normal and the other Hardcore. Hardcore is a permanent game mode where if your player character dies, they are gone for good. This mode is generally reserved for those that want to play the game in a more challenging way. That said, I’d say certain classes do have an edge over others when it comes to tackling Hardcore mode in Diablo IV.

The best classes in Diablo IV for Hardcore mode are Rogue, Sorcerer, and Druid. While Barbarian and Necromancer are formidable classes in their own right, Sorcerer and Rogue have great escape tools and Druid has incredible DPS in the late game. Specifically, I think the Druid Werebear and Pulverize build is great for post level-50 gameplay, and Sorcerer and Rogue have multiple dodges and can dish out massive damage relatively early on. Sorcerer also has access to several shields, making them surprisingly durable despite their general lack of defense.

Necromancer can also be a decent pick because of its minions, but Barbarian is relatively difficult by comparison.

That said, you can effectively tackle Hardcore in Diablo IV with any class you want. Just keep in mind that death is permanent and certain enemies can, and will, kill you in one hit if you happen to land in any explosive attacks. It is best to level up your Renown to obtain more healing potions in Diablo IV, and play things safe if you want to reach level 100.

Diablo IV is available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
