Like Terra, Shantotto is a mage, but the Tarutaru uses Final Fantasy XI exclusive spells. Shantotto can create cones of earth with Stonga and utilize the power of wind by casting Aeroga. Her EX Mode is Magic Burst which lets her cast a wave of spells that include: Quake, Tornado, Freeze, Flare, Flood, and Burst which commenter Gpba explains are the “6 Ancient Magic spells in FFXI”.
Information about Shantotto is just one of this week’s news items about Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Famitsu has a wealth of information this week. Zidane and Kuju’s EX Modes make the characters transform into feral creatures. Cloud and Sephiroth will have their Advent Children outfits as alternate costumes. Players that prefer classic Final Fantasy combat Dissidia: Final Fantasy can use the Command Battle system which lets players select attacks from a pop-up menu instead of pressing buttons. When you feel comfortable with the mechanics you can record your fights and take photos of killer battles. And since Dissidia: Final Fantasy is a game for Final Fantasy fans Square Enix is filling the disc with Final Fantasy facts found in the museum.
Dissidia: Final Fantasy appears to be a gigantic game which means there is a gigantic amount of text for Square Enix to translate too. Japan gets Dissidia: Final Fantasy on December 18. I wonder how long it will take Square Enix to localize the story and lock in voice actors to complete the international version.
