What’s Going On With the River Photo in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0?

River Ward might be a solid romance option in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0, but his family photo is far more infamous for its meme-level quality. The original family photo players received as a reward for finishing his quest chain wasn’t quite the incentive it should have been. Instead, it featured a terrifyingly hilarious picture of River and his family, which has now been changed in the 2.0 update.

How to See the New River Ward Family Photo in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0

The old River Ward family photo is gone in Cyberpunk 2077 2.0. Among the many other changes in the massive update, one of the most shocking is the new family portrait players get for completing River’s quest line. As revealed by Reddit user sherlotka-2137, the new photo features his family in a much better light.

The new family picture features River, Randy, and the other members of the family in a more natural scenario. Instead of the hospital room, the family appears to be relaxing at home. Everyone is looking at one another, unlike before, and engaging realistic activities. You can see the two younger kids playing on a tablet while the other three members interact with one another. They are a smiling and mostly happy family in this picture.

This contrasts considerably with the meme-level portrait from before, which was shared by normal_ on Reddit. The original photo featured the family gathered around Randy in the hospital. The only problem was how they all looked in different directions and felt so stiff in their animations.

This ridiculous photo led to some hilarious threads online, but now that old picture has been thrown into the CD Projekt Red vault.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
