Recruitment requirements can vary by route in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, but one thing for certain is that Goliath will always require Giant’s Meat and a level three Support before he’ll join your team. While getting to that level is easy with some Ghosh and meals, the meat is a pretty high-level drop from a multi-tile enemy you’ll only see in certain areas of Dagda.
Where can I find Giants in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave?
While giants can appear as a kind of enemy in some fort-type dungeon battles, the easiest way to get the Giant’s Meat for Goliath is to encounter the enemies in one of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave’s skirmishes. I found they tended to spawn south of the town of Breston and west of Credna’s Temple on the world map. If you already unlocked the Chiron Posthouse carriage fast travel point, it can make reaching that spot pretty easy.
Now, the giants won’t always be in that area. As you can see in the screenshot I shared below, it clearly noted that will be a fight against Giants and a level 35 encounter.

Note that you might need to find two Giant skirmishes to get enough of the meat for Goliath in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. When I had a high enough Support and Renown level to get him in Dietrich’s route, I only had two pieces on hand from a previous encounter and facing that level 35 skirmish only resulted in my getting two more. He needs three total.
Goliath is best used as an armored unit in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, due to the fact that he has naturally high attack and defense. His Personal Ability Heavyweight Class gives him +5 to his build, but keeps him from switching to any mounted classes. He also gains a Pin Down ability that decreases the movement of foes directly adjacent to him.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is available on the Switch 2.
