Who Is Il Capitano In Genshin Impact?

Il Capitano is a member of the Fatui Harbingers in Genshin Impact. His number is unknown, but because the Harbingers are ranked by strength, Il Capitano might be Number One. Not much is known about him as of the 4.0 series of updates, but it is possible he will appear in Genshin Impact’s main story after 5.0.

What do we know about Il Capitano in Genshin Impact?

So far, we know a bit about how he looks. Il Capitano is a masked individual with glowing blue eyes. He’s an imposing figure. In one of Mika’s Character Stories, he mentions that his subordinates act like war machines.

Il Capitano in expected to appear in the Natlan Archon Quest after the Genshin Impact 5.0 update, likely as one of the primary antagonists. At the end of the Fontaine Archon Quest, which is the one that precedes Natlan’s, Neuvillette tells us that he has recently “thrown his hat into the nation’s endless ring of war.” Natlan is the nation of the Pyro Archon, who is tied to wars and battles, so we can expect that to be one of its primary themes and a key plot point.

There isn’t much else known about him in the meantime. Judging by what other characters have said about him, he seems to value strength and enjoy conflict. However, he seems to be at least somewhat wise and responsible. He doesn’t seem to go around causing fights for no good reason. He also apparently know he’s strong, and both when and how to use that strength.

According to Wanderer, the members of the Fatui seem to respect Il Capitano, calling him things like brave, invincible, and righteous. Even some of his fellow Harbingers see him in a good light. Wanderer doesn’t care for him though, seeing the traits others praise as dangerous ones.

Il Capitano hasn’t appeared in-game yet, but we do see him in the video “Teyvat Chapter Interlude Teaser: A Winter Night’s Lazzo” on the Genshin Impact YouTube channel. In it, the Fatui Harbingers are gathered in Snezhnaya for Signora’s funeral. In the video, he says, “Though her methods tarnished her honor, Lohefalter’s sacrifice is a great pity. Her loss shall not hinder our progress. But Dottore… What of Scaramouche and the Gnosis from Inazuma?”

The last thing we know about Il Capitano is that he’s voiced by Chris Tergliafera in the English dub and by Ken Narita in the Japanese dub. Chris Tergliafera has also appeared as a voice actor in Danganronpa, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, One Punch Man, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
