The official Witch on the Holy Night Twitter account has posted a special visual from ufotable and Shaft to commemorate the collaboration between Witch on the Holy Night and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The visual stars the main characters from the respective works, Madoka and Aoko.
Because this is a collaborative visual between two companies, the art style varies between them. Madoka in her God Madoka form is pulling back a bow, while Aoko is casting a spell. The visual advertises that the Walpurgisnacht Rising movie is airing in theaters in Japan. It also reminds viewers that the Witch on the Holy Night movie will come out on November 20, 2026. This is, again, the Japanese air date.
While both movies are currently airing in Japan, they are already set to release internationally, including in the United States. Walpurgisnacht Rising will come out on January 16, 2027 in the United States. A set of the previous trilogy of movies (the first two compilation films and Rebellion) will appear on Blu-Ray, Crunchyroll, and Netflix in late 2026. Witch on the Holy Night will also come out in international theaters in late January 2027. The United States and Canada will get to see it on January 29, 2027.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is available for streaming on platforms like Crunchyroll. Witch on the Holy Night is available on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC. It’ll also come out for mobile devices on November 20, 2026.
