CD Projekt RED shared an update on The Witcher series of games. In it, the developer confirmed The Witcher 3 expansion Songs of the Past will appear at gamescom 2026. Also, while The Witcher 4 won’t be there, it is looking like that entry will launch in 2028.
CEO Michal Nowakowski brought up the news on social media in a video statement. In it, he confirmed The Witcher 3 Songs of the Past expansion will appear on August 26, 2026 during the Opening Night Live showcase, will appear at the gamescom 2026 CD Projekt RED booth, and could be in the planned RED streams.
As for The Witcher 4, we’ve already known about that entry for quite some time. It came up during The Game Awards 2024. That’s when we learned Ciri will be the protagonist of that installment. Michal Nowakowski said over 500 developers are working on the game. In the video statement, he said the team “is targeting a 2028 release window.”
Here’s the full announcement video with Nowakowski.
