Growlancer Generations, released in 2004, is the final game from Working Designs. The studio is legendary for taking a stab at bringing J-RPGs to the Western market. They started up back in the days of the Turbo Grafix 16 when they brought Cosmic Fantasy 2 over. When the Sega Saturn was released Working Designs lived its glory days. Without them, the Saturn would be devoid of great games like Dragon Quest and Magic Knights Rayearth. The Lunar series was another one of Working Designs’ major projects, Lunar: Silver Star Story for the Playstation is still a hard to find classic. It’s a shame to see a studio with such a rich history fade into oblivion, but there’s hope in the lone forum post by the founder. The team, while laid off now, might be working with Microsoft to localize Xbox 360 RPGs. Enchant Arm anyone?
