Bandai Namco announced that their smartphone game, World Trigger: Smash Borders, is headed to the PlayStation Vita. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]

As far as game content goes, the PlayStation Vita version will be the exact same as the smartphone version, but you won’t be able to carry over data to the PS Vita one when it releases.

The game involves sending out units to take care of Trion soldiers that are attacking the Border headquarters, which must be protected. The game is characters by the aiming that is involved in smashing away enemies, so good aim and tactics can make a big different on how the battles play out.

You can get a look at how it works in the above trailer.

World Trigger: Smash Borders is currently available as a free-to-play title on Android and iPhone in Japan. The PlayStation Vita version’s release date will be revealed later.
