5 Worst Anime Worth Skipping in Spring 2025

The Spring 2025 anime season, in my opinion, is one of the more underwhelming in recent memory. There are some solid shows, for sure, but it appears that most highly anticipated and high-quality anime are waiting until later in the year to debut. As such, I’m here to help you with the worst anime from my perspective, in no particular order, that you should probably skip in Spring 2025.

Classic Stars

I usually enjoy music-themed anime series, but this is by far one of the most forgettable. It tells the story of Beethoven joining a promising academy for gifted entertainers. The characters don’t interest that much and the animation is bland. There are better music anime in recent memory worth watching.

Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers

To be fair, this is the least bad of this bunch. That said, it won’t appeal to many anime fans since it isn’t the easiest to watch without prior knowledge of the Guilty Gear video game fighting series. In addition, the animation is a bit rough at times. The 3D characters aren’t awful, but the quality is shaky in action sequences. Plus, the 2D backgrounds lack quite a bit of detail. That said, if you’re a fan of the game series, you may enjoy this.

I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire

With isekai series, there is always going to be the meh one of the season and that is this series. The animation isn’t as bad as some isekai, but the quality is highly inconsistent. It constantly shifts between serviceable and bad. Plus, the main character is rather unlikeable. This feels like a poorly done version of fantasy mixed with sci-fi isekai.

Makina-san’s a Love Bot?!

This is a horribly done romantic comedy anime series with a poor sense of humor. It’s the usual idea we’ve seen before: popular girl moves in with the loser dude and they have a bit of romance. The only problem is this particular series takes the scummy route with the main girl Makina-san that is just too problematic to recommend to anyone.

Please Put Them On, Takamine-san

This show is basically hentai trying to disguise itself as a regular anime series. It tells the story of a nobody high schooler that finds out the student council president has the power to turn back time. Except her power only works when she changes her undergarments. Yeah, if you want ecchi, sure, give it a try. Otherwise, this is a skip for everyone else.
