Xbox Japan Boss Comments On Monster Hunter Frontier Online Sales

Monster Hunter may be the hottest franchise in Japan now. Two weeks ago, the series made its debut on Xbox 360. Capcom ported their PC game, Monster Hunter Frontier to Microsoft’s console.

And its launch surpassed the expectations of Takashi Sensui, Head of Japan’s Xbox Division. Famitsu caught up with Sensui and brought up the game’s favorable reception. “Yes, sales are greater than we anticipated,” Sensui replied.

 

The number of online players reached a new record high three days after Monster Hunter Frontier Online was released. All of these new Xbox 360 accounts require an Xbox Live Gold subscription, which also means Microsoft has a handful of new Xbox Live members in Japan.
