Microsoft announced that the official size limit for Xbox Live Arcade games has been increased from 50 MB to 150MB. To make sure Xbox 360 owners who don’t have a hard drive can enjoy the upcoming “large” games a new 512 MB memory unit is coming out on April 3, 2007. The new memory unit will retail for $49.99 and the first batch comes with Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved loaded on it. The 64MB Memory Unit will drop in price to $29.99. If you are planning to spend the money on the 512 MB unit to play Xbox Live Arcade you really should consider to get the 20GB hard drive for an extra $50. The size increase makes sense and certainly means that there are some more “large” games other than Castlevania: Symphony of the Night in the works. Could Rez be next?
