Xenoblade Chronicles 2 composer Yasunori Mitsuda, who is best known for the music of Chrono Trigger and Xenogears, says that they are now finished with the production of the Switch RPG’s music.

“We completed the music production of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 today without any problems. Thanks to the help from numerous musicians and staff, we were able to give it our all until the very end. Thank you very much.”

Earlier this month, Mitsuda-san said on his Twitter account that the music production on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had data surpassing 1TB with Protools alone. Previously the most he’s ever done was 500GB. In addition to the involvement of over 300 musicians, Mitsuda said they went through about 20,000 sheets of music and that he doesn’t believe he’ll ever work on a bigger project until the day he dies.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 releases this holiday season for Nintendo Switch.
