Sony announced via the PlayStation Blog that Sega will release a demo for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, the updated remake of the third game with an entirely new Yoshitaka Mine storyline. However, we don’t know when this might appear. It was only confirmed at an event that there will be a means for people to try the adventure before buying it.

The announcement came in a PlayStation Blog preview about the game. While the article did mention both the writer experiencing the Kazuma Kiryu Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Mine Dark Ties segments, it didn’t note if that will be possible in the upcoming demo. It only noted Sega will make an announcement regarding it.

It’s actually pretty rare for Yakuza and Like a Dragon series games to get demos. Only two are immediately available right now, and those are both for spin-off games. One is a combat demo for Like a Dragon: Ishin, which is set in 1860s Japan, involves the Shinsengumi, and features a Ryoma Sakamoto that looks suspiciously like Kazuma Kiryu. The other is Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, the Goro Majima game set around the same period as the eighth Yakuza game Infinite Wealth
