Yakuza Kiwami is an upcoming “ultimate remake” of the first Yakuza game, with new scenarios, mini-games, systems, and enhanced looks. The game’s latest introduction trailer showcases the game as told by Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima.

The video shows off Kiryu and his different styles in addition to new moves that he’ll have in the upcoming remake. We then get a look at the “Anywhere Majima” system, where Majima will pop out from just about anywhere for a fight.

The purpose for this feature is a strange way of Majima to help Kiryu become stronger. Think of it as a Yakuza version of Cato from The Pink Panther, except Majima will show up from manholes, trash cans, and even disguised as a cabaret girl.

We then get to see some more with the “Adventure” part of the video at the 2:30 mark. This segment shows us the new and enhanced looks of Kamurocho, and how you’ll have more areas to visit in the remake.

In addition to new mini-games and places to visit, there will be new sub-scenarios that will tell various stories of the folks from the city. There will be more going on in the night life as well, including new “special” movies with the club girls.

Yakuza Kiwami will release in Japan on January 21, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The game will also include a demo for Yakuza 6.
