Fans of both Final Fantasy XIV and Yo-kai Watch can expect a special treat when the Yo-kai Watch collaboration event begins next week on July 26th at 1:00 AM (PDT). The event will offer players the chance to obtain Yo-kai Watch-themed minions, mounts, and even weapons you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

To begin the event, players must be over level 15 and have completed one of the following quests: “The Gridianian Envoy,” “The Lominsan Envoy,” or “The Ul’dahn Envoy.” Once those requirements have been met, players can begin their Yo-kai quest by speaking to the NPC at the following location:

Once players have received their Yo-kai Watch, they can begin collecting Yo-kai Medals by completing various FATEs in La Noscea, the Black Shroud, and Thanalan. These Yo-kai Medals can then be traded to an NPC in the Gold Saucer to obtain minions based on a variety of different Yo-kai.

By collecting and summoning all thirteen of these Yo-kai minions, adventurers will also gain access to a brand-new mount based on the Yo-kai Whisper.

Lastly, to obtain one of the Yo-kai-themed weapons from the event, players must gather Legendary Yo-kai Medals, which can be received occasionally by completing FATEs while having the Yo-kai of your choice summoned. As an example, if you want the weapon based on the Yo-kai Jibanyan, the Paw of the Crimson Cat, you must summon the Jibanyan minion, participate in FATEs, and collect enough Legendary Yo-kai Medals to trade in for the weapon.

The Final Fantasy XIV and Yo-kai Watch collaboration event will begin on July 26th at 1:00 AM, and will last until October 3rd at 7:59 AM (PDT), giving you plenty of time to get out there and collect as many Yo-kai Medals as you can!

To learn more about the collaboration event, you can head over to the official Final Fantasy XIV Lodestone.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for PC, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
