During the September 2026 Nintendo Direct, Level-5 revealed Yo-Kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain for the Switch 2. The game is in development, and there’s no release window for it yet. It will feature additional content in addition to elements from the original JRPG installments.
Initial details are extremely slim. We do know this remake features elements from Bony Spirits, Fleshy Souls and Psychic Specters. This means all characters will be available to obtain in a single game. Psychic Specters was the more complete version with additional story content leading into the third game, more characters, and recruitable Wicked Yo-kai. There will also be visual updates.
Here’s the first teaser trailer for the game. We first see Nate walking with Jibanyan down the street. Whisper then zips in out of nowhere to join the duo. No new characters or hints at additional content appear in that footage. There’s no actual gameplay that shows what the game might look like or if it will keep the same battle system.
This is handy for potential accessibility purposes. Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters can be incredibly expensive, like the third entry, due to things like scarcity.
