The latest issue of Famitsu includes a conversation between former Capcom developer Hiroyuki Kobayashi and NieR series Producer Yosuke Saito. In it, the developers talk about game development and briefly explain some recent projects that they have been involved in.

During the conversation, Yosuke Saito confirmed that he has been talking with Yoko Taro and Monaca composer Keiichi Okabe about a new game that he wants to do. Saito also said that he hopes he can talk about it a bit more coherently in the not-too-distant future and teased that it might or might not be related to the NieR series.

Furthermore, Saito also said that there is one more project unrelated to the aforementioned one. Saito has been doing various things with the sentiment to create something that doesn’t exist in the world. Since the developer can’t devote all his time to this project, he’s been leaving most of the work to this stuff, but he added that it’s turning out to be interesting.

There is no information on when the conversation between Kobayashi and Saito took place. After Square Enix recently announced over $140 million in losses due to “content abandonment,” it is unclear whether or not these projects are still under consideration by the company.
