Playtonic’s latest Yooka-Laylee update includes some good news regarding the game’s release. When the game launches next year, it won’t be a digital exclusive. Physical copies of the game are planned.
Exact details on the Yooka-Laylee physical release regarding platforms, pricing, and other details haven’t been announced. However, Platonic is looking to offer an option for Kickstarter backers to upgrade the pledges so they can get physical copies instead of digital ones.
This Yooka-Laylee update also offers a few other general updates about the game. Backer credits name guidelines were noted, reminding people to stick to the character limits, not use ASCII art or Unicode characters, not include hashtags or URLs, and not use the opportunity to send a message to Playtonic. It also notes that Yacht Club provided the 3D model and voice acting for Shovel Knight’s cameo appearance in the game.
Yooka-Laylee will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Wii U, and PC in Q1 2017.
