TIME will once again feature Pokemon on the cover of the magazine for the series’ 30th anniversary, and this time we can choose which cover we get. The three cover variants feature Mega Charizard, Rayquaza, and the Legendary birds Ho-Oh and Lugia. All three are shipping now from Amazon and will appear in other stores, and they cost $14.99 each. Since online storefronts are selling them as their own separate listings, it is easier to guarantee you get the cover you prefer.
The covers are the only difference between the three issues of TIME magazine covering the 30th anniversary of Pokemon. The interior stories are all the same. Some of the stories teased on the cover are “30 Years of Pikachu,” “How to Master Pokemon GO,” and “The World’s Most Valuable Media Franchise.” The description also noted that the issue will discuss the trading card game.
Here’s how all three of the covers look this time:

TIME Magazine also featured multiple Pokemon covers for the issue 25th anniversary. Some of the options back then included Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu.
TIME isn’t the only magazine celebrating the series. LIFE also announced a Pokemon issue with four cover variants. Those include ones with Blastoise with water types, Charizard with fire types, and Pikachu and electric types.
The 30th anniversary of Pokemon takes place on February 27, 2026.
