Capcom’s 2D arcade fighter is Sengoku Basara X

By Spencer . July 20, 2007 . 11:43am

capcomsbcross.jpgThe mystery, brand new 2D fighting game from Capcom takes characters from the Sengoku Basara series and throws them in the second dimension. This may have dashed dreams of Street Fighter 4 and Guilty Gear versus Capcom there is hope for Sengoku Basara Cross. Arc System Works, the team behind Guilty Gear, is designing the title and they know how to make 2D fighting games.* Artwork for the ten characters is up on the official site and like the Guilty Gear series Sengoku Basara Cross has an anime feel to it.

*As long as they aren’t hastily ported to the PS2.

I was pretty sure it wasn’t SF4, somewhat of a disappointment still. There isn’t 1 character that stands out from the rest.

Haven’t played Sengoku Basara 2, but I kind of like the character designs, I like the fact they’re based on historical chars, we have the ever present Nobunaga and the monkey-like Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Their 3D models better though, but I wouldn’t mind playing this fighter.
