Capcom’s prepare yourself announcement is….

And here is a teaser trailer.

The style looks fantastic, but there isn’t a clue about how it is going to play. Is this going to be a high resolution 2D fighter? A 3D fighting game? Something entirely different? What do you think? And did the announcement live up to your expectations?

Also this isn’t the only Street Fighter IV in town. Street Fighter IV has been out for years… on the NES. Video past the break.

JKTrix Says:

jeremy Says:

Kotat Says:

I really hope they keep it 2d, unfortunatly it dosen’t look that way =/ Hopefully they will do it in the style of the newer KoF’s where it plays like a 2d fighter…

My mouth dropped when I saw this. I immediately thought of Okami (did Capcom test the idea with Okami to see public reaction?), but on second thought, this is just the teaser, so we really have no idea how the gameplay art, etc, is going to come out. If anything, its just Capcom’s way of saying to 2 people, 1. Investors, we aint giving up on our number 1 cash cow, 2. Fans, because, I can’t think of ANY other fighting game that comes close except King of Fighter series.

Street Fighter IV is alive, and thats all that matters to me! The big question is….who is going to be left or added????

OH. MY. GOD.

Yay! 2 new revivals of classic Capcom franchises! Only promblem is, it isn’t announced what system it’ll be for (I own a Wii and DS). I just disappointed that Capcom isn’t giving a 100% percent to Nintendo and have hidden We Love Golf! for a long time…. And actually, the lack of Mega Man games disappoints me, and it’s crap that only 2 of his “annverisary” games are being released in the US.

It looks like Capcom is reviving some of it’s old franchises, and if a sequel of Okami is done on Wii and a port of Marvel vs. Capcom (it could happen), Captain Commando or Final Fight or Breath of Fire, I’ll be happy.

ChrisUlt Says:

This is good, but I don’t know about this. The systems it might be for wasn’t revealed, which might mean Wii is left out the mix. Again.

Still, it looks good and if a 2-D Street Fighter comes to the Wii (even if it’s a RPG or remake), I’ll be happy.

itll be better for a portable console

i expect it to be on every platform. a franchise like street fighter has to be multi-platform. i never even imagined that they would consider 3d until i saw people mention it in the comments section. i don’t think they would call it street fighter 4 if it were a 3d game. it would probably be assigned some sort of random alphanumeric combination as a suffix. the fact that it is named simply street fighter 4 makes it highly likely (to me at least) that it will be 2d. if it were 3d, why would they even announce it? that’s how i feel about it.

Daniel Primed Says:

Awesome trailer.

Capcom would be making a big mistake by not including the classic characters. At least Ken and Ryu are going to be in the game.

I guess this “new beginning” kinda sounds like this might not be the case.

Shugu Says:

hopefully capcom knows better to hire back the staff that worked on SF2 and 3. Last time I heard, most of their 2d staff left to start their own company. The only person left is Kinu Nishimura, who did all the concept art for SF3. I’m guessing the game will play like a 2D fighter, but will definitly have elements of 3d. Probably using a 3d engine to spit out 2D sprites seems to be th way to do it.

TacoBeaver Says:

like a naruto ultimate nin game id say, or ssbm but no so hilarious

S.O.A.K. Says:

I think this game should be the last PS2 game released but also put on the PS3
