Tales Of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X’s Anime Opening Looks Something Like This

By Spencer . May 24, 2010 . 2:40am

Namco Bandai hired Production I.G. for another Tales game. The studio did animation work for last year’s Tales of Graces and Tales of Vesperia before that. Now they’re working on Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X, a PSP remake of a Game Boy Color game.

Here’s a glimpse at the game’s anime opening.

Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X also has hand drawn illustrations. Looks light years apart from the Game Boy Color game, right?

Namco Bandai also added new costumes, Narikiri Dungeon’s term for jobs, to the PSP game.

Looks nice, 2 remakes in one :P hope they still add some new features

The only remake is Narikiri, the original ToP has only minor differences compared to the FVE version released on Psp years ago.

Seems nice, even if it is less interesting than a new mothership Tales. Narikiri expanded on Dhaos’ backstory, and I hope that part is more fleshed out in the remake than it was in the original GBC game. I fear that it will be a failure in the japanese market, however: Narikiri is uber-niche and Phantasia already had a Psp porting, ToP FVE, whose sales number were all but overwhelming. I can’t imagine many people buying again ToP for the same system with only minor adjustements and a remake of an obscure spin off, but then again the Tales fanbase is pretty loyal to the brand.

edit: lol, I replied to myself by mistake XD

Oh yeah that’s right!, i forgot about that… oh but then is kind of a waste, they could had put another tales not yet ported to psp, like innocence, or i dunno even tales of hearts, but that would be too much of a job xD, well ill be looking forward to it.Narakiri does seem niche (i played it for a little bit) the clothes thing wasnt too bad though, and well, the 2 main characters (boy and girl) is good, because if the person has to choose the gender before, most probably all dialogues characters-main character, or viceversa, are all generalized, like… it haves to be for boys and girls, and then it feels there is a lack sumthing! xD.And if the first screen is the 2 main characters of narakiri, at least the girl looks like a girl…, but the boy looks less like a boy O_O

So…will we see this in the states? Or is Namco still stuck-up?

Namco bandai is currently localisingthe next 2 dragonball games, the next cooking mama, and all the next naruto games not yet announced, not even in japan.

They are not stuck up! (yeah right xD)

If only it was because they’re busy or something. What angers me the most is that they won’t even let other companies work on games they will never release anyways. Man, how I hate Namco Bandai.

This has been my weekly hate post for Namco Bandai.

Hopefully those trademarks for Tales of VS., Tales of Graces, and Tales of Hearts will be put to use.

I didn’t get the one from a couple years ago, so I may import this one.

I wonder why they aren’t using the sprites from the Narikiri Dungeon battle system, in the TOP remake’s battle system? They look much nicer and would actually be an improvement to the TOP remake.
