This Week In Sales: Black Panther: Yakuza Blows Out Louder

The week of September 20th – 26th. Pokémon Black/White once again reside at the very top of the sales chart, unwavering in their resolve to conquer all of Japan. Meanwhile, Ohtani Ikue conquers Japan in her own special way.

The story of the week, of course, is Black Panther: New Yakuza chapter, SEGA’s PSP Yakuza spin-off starring a completely new, younger protagonist. In its first week, Black Panther moved 174,213 units. Not as much as Yakuza 4′s grand debut at 383,972 units, but impressive nonetheless, given how much less the PSP game must have cost to develop.

Meanwhile, ASCII Media Works released Durarara!! 3way Standoff for PSP, which came in at 21,566 units. The top 20 for the week is as follows:

Tag Force 5 is still chugging along nicely. I can not wait until October to finally play it.

Durarara, seems interesting to be getting a game. I cant wait to finally see that anime.

Not happy to see Front Mission Evolved do as well as it did. Was very much hoping the game would flop so Squeenix would go back to the old school gameplay for the series.

Front Mission Gun Hazard says hi

      • kupomogli

Gun Hazard is like Cybernator so of course that one is awesome. I’m kind of interested in Front Mission Evolved anyways. I’m an Armored Core fan and actually used to be a Mechwarrior fan so won’t bother playing a different type. In my opinion Front Mission 3 is the best Front Mission title with strategy gameplay. The original is “decent” but it’s not anything amazing like the third was. The fourth title, the only other Front Mission that we’ve received, was crap when coming from how good the third one was.

I have Front Mission 5 in English

Haha, you think Square Enix is generous enough to try again after a failure. No, I’m sure they’ll just follow the average SE thought process and drop the series entirely. It’s buy or die with these guys.

I’d rather the series die than be made into what they’re making it into.

Black Panther kicks ass….hopefully SEGA releases it overseas like Yakuza 4

    • kupomogli

Haven’t played Black Panther but I’m a fan of the Yakuza games so I’m sure I’ll like it. If Sega brings it over here it’ll be another day one purchase.
