Yakuza 4 Trailer Gives You An Adventurous Tour Of Kamurocho After Dark

By Ishaan . November 24, 2010 . 12:30pm

In one of the more amusing trailers we’ve seen in a long time, Sega introduces the world of Yakuza 4 with a touch of self-deprecating humour.

After seeing this video does Yakuza 4 sound like your kind of sake? If you nodded yes look for Yakuza 4 in spring 2011 when Sega releases it for PlayStation 3.

    Hooooly.

I still have only played the first one, but I got a paycheck coming tomorrow, and a copy of Yakuza 2 with my name on it!

Well technically, anyone could by it so it doesn’t have my name on it yet…

And I don’t usually write my name on games I own, so it’ll probably never have my name on it.

    But yeah. Yakuza 2!

    • hush404

Maybe you should start writing your name on games, see what becomes of it. :D

  • kupomogli

Yakuza 4 is my cup of sake. My Amazon preorder can vouch for that.

Also, I hope this trailer is an indication that the game will include and English dub.

I, well, LOVED the first game’s dub, so it’ll be odd going into the sequel with Japanese voices.

    • androvsky

Sega rep apparently already replied, it’s not getting dubbed. Subtitled adverts are incredibly rare in the U.S. even for subtitle-only media, it really shouldn’t be an indication at all.

        Ah, thanks for that.

      Parts 2 & 3 didn’t have a dub, either, though.

Looks great, the fighting looks pretty unrealistic. I haven’t played any of the titles though so maybe it’s expected lol.

I imagine the real Yakuza play these games with a smug grin haha.

    • kupomogli

There’s a reporter who got three Yakuza to play the game and give their opinions on it. Pretty good read. One actually completed the game to the end.http://www.boingboing.net/2010/08/10/yakuza-3-review.html#more

      Oh you…

Man I really should get into this series someday, I love Shenmue. They say this is kind of a spiritual successor to Shenmue.

  • Code

Wow, damn fine trailer, not even remotely my type of game, but be damned if that trailer didn’t draw me in. I don’t get to say this as often as I’d like, but seriously well done Sega!

Who’s narrating? Sounded like Mickey Rourke for a minute…

  • ChaosPaladinFayt

ERRRN! wrong its not even like GTA! ppl who think its like GTA havent play it.

      • ChaosPaladinFayt

well its like GTA in the aspect where u can watever the hell u want and go fight random ppl. so in some ways, yes it is.

        • Guest

No, it isn’t, you don’t fight “random” people in Yakuza, you fight thugs and yakuza goons. I do agree that it is more fun than the GTA games.

          • ChaosPaladinFayt

yea….thugs and yakuza goons can be random rite?, thats sort of wat i meant, i apologize for not making that clear

If anything, it always felt like an RPG to me, just with hand-to-hand battles, instead of turn-based. I mean, you can just go around stealing cars or attacking random pedestrians in the game.

I don’t drink, but I feel like I know the taste of good sake now. Thank you Sega

  • EvilAkito

I’ve never played a Yakuza game. Perhaps I’ll give this one a try.

  • forweg

    What is self-depreciating about it?

  • cj_iwakura

    Wow. Nicely done, Sega.

Not gonna lie, that was a great trailer.

  • hush404

That trailer was awesome :D Very well done and the game itself looks spot on what I’m looking for.

please, please, please bring this to xbox!!!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1472407455 Charles Lupula

Not happening. Just get yourself a PS3 if you want to play this series. Sega are one of the few companies out there that still believe in exclusives. In fact, if I recall correctly, I remember them saying that whatever company helped pay for it would get Shenmue 3 exclusively, if they ever decided to make one.

  • PrinceHeir

can’t wait for this :)Yakuza 4 kicks ass please bring Yakuza the Black Panther and Yakuza The End of.oh and Valkyria Chronicles 3 also. damn i love Sega so much been releasing alot and publishing some new games, Resonance of Fate, Yakuza 3 and 4, Sonice, Bayonetta, Vanquish, Phantasy Star games and so on

The umbrella line was actually pretty funny.
