Rune Factory 4 Sales Cross 150,000 In Japan

By Ishaan . September 28, 2012 . 11:20am

The last time we saw on Rune Factory 4 in the weekly top-20 software sales charts from Japan, it had sold 140,639 copies. While the game hasn’t been around in the top-20 for a few weeks now, Marvelous AQL tweeted today that sales have crossed the 150,000 mark.

In August, Rune Factory producer, Yoshifumi Hashimoto, confirmed that Rune Factory 4 is the best-selling game in the series thus far. Prior to Rune Factory 4, that title belonged to Rune Factory 2.

Additionally, Rune Factory 5 is expected at some point in time, too, Hashimoto recently shared. He’s also presently working on another game, which we assume is Dragon Marked for Death on the Nintendo 3DS, a title that we broke news of last year.

Speaking with Siliconera, Hashimoto said last year: “The online is going to be amazing, but we can’t announce anything else right now, though.”

Keep it up, Marvelous AQL!  I hope they’d port their previous games in Steam, if it’s not too much to ask…

Excited for DMFD, hope it won’t be vaporware like Sword of Legendia was. :/ So rare for one to announce a game only be name like that.

I’m happy for them. The game looks very good, although I haven’t played yet.If it’s better than RF2 or 3,it’s a must buy for me,if they decide to release around here.

    Localize please!
    …please? -A-/

Hopefully they’ll announce the English release date soon.

One would hope. I’m amazed they haven’t done so yet.

Natsume takes time with their releases, so I’m expecting an announcement earlier next year.

RF2 sold best afterwards?  I am guessing it is the hype of the sequel, because I found it to be the weakest entry so far.

I’m positive it’ll be localized.  They don’t have much coming up, they rarely pass up on Harvest Moon in any form either and they’ve been supporting the 3DS.

I think i love just about everything about Rune Factory 4. (everything that i’ve seen anyway) i can’t wait to play it X_x

Natsume should get around to this next year. Looking forward to it. Loved RF3 even though I got nowhere.

That’s great news! Keep on sellin’, my favorite franchise.

i hope it’s get a English version but with keep Japan voice the same , that would be awesome !

Honestly, that’s a pretty impressive sales number, IMO. One that I believe the commenters here can attribute to simply making a great game for the 3DS. I wonder if Hashimoto has plans drawn up for a console-sized Wii U entry to the series that he can roll out after 5? I wouldn’t be surprised.

But yes. All I want is that release date. In the meantime, I can try to finish *one* of the five, even as I contemplate going even further back in MAQL’s DS catalog and picking up a pre-owned Avalon Code.

I wish they could hear our crying pleas.  I’ll guess I’ll have Pokemon Black 2 and Harvest Moon ANB to tide me over until next year.
