Get Acquainted With Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s Zinogre

Capcom have posted a new monster profile for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. This time, we’re looking at Zinogre, who was the mascot monster for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, and is back for 3U. Read the profile along with screens below.

If you’ve been keeping up with the international Monster Hunter releases, you’ll soon recognize the Zinogre as the monster in the cover of the Japan-only Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. This fanged wyvern is back in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate to terrorize your hunts with its electricity packed moves and crazy acrobatics. New to MH3U is the addition of the Stygian Zinogre—Zinogre’s darker Dragon-element fueled cousin (or subspecies, as described in the game)

But let’s focus on the Thunder-based Zinogre for now. By the time you first encounter this monster, you shouldn’t be surprised that it has some contact moves, such as a running attack, a shoulder tackle and series of stomps that do a good job at tracking its prey. What’s really new and unique to the Zinogre is its incredible acrobatics. It can jump while spinning which results in a sweeping of the area with its long tail. Additionally, he does unexpected backflips—which occasionally catch me off-guard since I try to attack monsters as they’re facing away from me.

Also unique to the Zinogre is the ability to charge up its thunder power! It can charge it up to different levels to enhance its thunder attacks, which can cause some serious damage. While charging up, the Zinogre leaves his guard down for a short period of time, so be sure to make good use of that time. But I wouldn’t be too close to it when it’s getting ready for a full charge… the electricity is quite powerful.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be released in March for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U in North America and Europe.

I feel I am among friends here, so I have no qualms in asking:
Is there any sexy armor in Monster Hunter, or any way to make an attractive female character.

This was why I originally like God Eater over MH2, but maybe the character design/creation has improved. I wasn’t a big fan of the Eskimo characters when I played it on PSP.

    • I find Kirin and Nargacuga armors quite sexy. Search them and see if you like them.

You could always go in your underwear, if that turns you on. Good luck fighting Deviljho.

      • Eriol

Actually, having Chakra Armor allows you to do that with a good degree of customization option, which using skills and experience, wouldn’t make normal Deviljho much of a threat.

Well, there’s no kirin, tigrex nor conga in this game. Barioth set is a kirin-wannabe armor, but i don’t really like it, the other one could be alatreon gunner and naruga X sets.

In the end i always prefer coolness over cuteness and sexiness. Reason why i usually pick male

PSP Freedom Unite had staples like Nargacuga and Butterfly Armors. Not to mention Kirin. These return except Kirin, and they add things like Barioth, Great Froggi and even Zinogre’s here which is rather unique in my opinion. Not to mention the G versions which I even haven’t seen all of them. There’s plenty of them to go around. … I know this for research purposes, of course. Yes.

I really like my red-head lady hunter in Barioth armor.Plus it gives you more invincibility on your evades. I love that armor.

Godeater is fun and all, but Personally I feel it lacks a lot of the depth I find in monster hunter. I play a guy in MH though because I feel the armor just looks awesome. I think if you want a sexy avatar for a hunter game, play Ragnarok odyssey. In that game the armor is purely aesthetic like in Guildwars for example. I found the graphics and character armors more my flavor than that of Godeater. When asked to pick my favorite style i’d go with monster hunter, but best looking gals would be ragnarok odyssey.

  • Jinouga. Jinouger. Jinoger. Zinoger. Zinogre… Zinogre!
Nope. Still a very awkward transition.
I’ll probably just keep saying Jinouga.

apparently Z is for lightning things… I learned that from the SMT games, and all that zio.

  • Man, I’m starting to get pretty excited for 3DS games this year. Fire Emblem, Etrian Odyssey, and Monster Hunter are going to gobble up a lot of my time. That’s no mean feat either given how rarely I’m interested in new releases nowadays.

I’m still hard after rubbing it out a few times. be dry as a desert by march lol. 3ds and Wii u.
