Kinda pointless to put Dissidia Duodecim and original Dissidia on the same sale lol

    • heartless141

      story?

      • http://twitter.com/Vietgeta VietGeta

Duodecim has the original story in it as well. If anything, the only point for the original is just pure “Digital Collection”.

      • http://www.facebook.com/trevor.nicolaysen Trevor Nicolaysen

The story of dissidia is in duodecim. Almost manditory as well.

        • heartless141

          musta slipped my mind

          • http://www.facebook.com/trevor.nicolaysen Trevor Nicolaysen

It happens to me all the time. XD

    • Syn

lol, True that, I pity the soul that will get both, lol

    • http://Madeforgaming.com/ David M

      why?

      • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

Dissidia 012 is basically an updated version of the first Dissidia, you literally don’t miss anything both gameplay wise and story wise.

        • http://www.facebook.com/eric.garcia.3990418 Eric Garcia

          What?

          • Kalis Konig

Duodecim is not much a sequel more so an expansion. You get every thing that was in the first game plus the prequel story and new features and tweaks. there is literally no reason to buy the first dissidia. especially if you are a digital gamer. EVERYTHING in dissidia 1 is in Dissidia 2 but updated.

          • Raltrios

Wait wait wait… are you telling me that I, who have not moved on to Duodecim because I haven’t finished Dissidea yet (only Shantotto and Gabranth to unlock, but the damn board games are so boring so I can’t work up the desire to do so), have been wasting my time?

          • Benjamin Shaw

Unfortunately yes. You’ll have an easier time of finishing the updated story in 012 as well, since they changed the boring board game system a bit. Go on and move ahead, it’s a great game.

          • Raltrios

Oh thank god. I can finally move on and start using Lightning and the rest. If only the Aya costume were still available, though…

          • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

Well, if it makes you feel better you can transfer your data from Dissidia to 012, you’ll be able to transfer stuff like your levels and the abilities you unlocked and maybe certain items so it’s not at all a waste man!
Plus, only in Dissidia you can access to the Inward Chaos :3

  • eilegz

no FF XIII-2 dlc discount? bah

  • Zonic505

Totally picking up Duodecim for $10. Spent over 100 hours on the original Dissidia but had to sell Duodecim when I sold my PSP to pay for my Vita. $10 is a great deal for the game, especially since it has pretty much the original game as well.

  • KingGunblader

Hmmm… I already have Duodecim, War of the Lions, and FFIV Complete. Guess I could try those PS1 FF games I never played (Looking at you, VIII and IX)

    • http://geekouts.blogspot.com/ miruki

      Skip 8 and go for 9. It’s wonderful. :)

      • Wait what

Don’t do this. Definitely play 8, it’s one of the best.

        • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

          :’3
          *Hi5*

      • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

Hey, the guy’s nickname is KingGunblader, playing VIII is a must.

IX fans can be pretty mean huh?

        • Kefkiroth

Why would there need to be a split between VIII and IX fans? Can’t you just like both?

          • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

Eh don’t ask me, Im not the one suggesting to skip an entry in order to favour another one, I loved VIII and I like IX but it seems some people are really dedicated to separate the fandom.

          • http://geekouts.blogspot.com/ miruki

Again: I’m not a part of this so called fandom and I’m not trying to seperate it in any way. I just like games. And I like good stories. I like likeable & interesting characters. 8 didn’t really deliver that to me, but I never said 8 is crappy or anything.

I don’t know what you guys are expecting from people. Just saying, I’m a single mom, nearing my thirties, I have a f… rustratingly busy life and a lot of stuff to deal with. Besides life, work and gaming there’s also friends & family and my other hobbies I want to spend time on. I don’t usually have the time to put 80+ hours into one game so I choose very carefully when playing a game, I like to hear other people’s opinions as well, before deciding on what to play or buy – so, I just gave my opinion. Nobody is forcing anyone to listen to it and I never said it’s THE ONE OPINION to have. But it’s frustrating that everyone’s being so negative about it… especially here, where I’ve always found that discussion and conversations tend to be rather nice compared to other gaming related sites.

          • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

What I expect from people is usually neutrality, it kinda irks me when people say what should you like better instead of another providing something different all based in opinions, it’s much better to tell what do both have to offer buuut I have to admit maybe I got too carried away on that last sentence so, sorry for that much ^^’

          • http://geekouts.blogspot.com/ miruki

You can’t really expect people to have neutral opinions about everything. If someone doesn’t like a game, why should they recommend it to someone else? If they think another game is better, they’ll of course recommend that one instead. If he’s got the money and time to buy and play both, he should just do that. If it’s a matter of one or the other, I totally vote for 9, just like you do for 8. :) I know there’s a lot of troll-y fans out there, but you don’t have to immediately assume that everyone’s like that. :)

          • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

Uh, because that way you provide diverse options? Im not saying you should have a neutral opinion and like everything equally, Im just saying you should be neutral recommending something.
Fair enough you could’ve as well just recommend IX but it’s not fair saying VIII should be skipped, it could be the kind of game OP is looking for, that’s all Im saying .w.

Yeah, I’ll keep that in mind but in FF related stuff you can expect anything :P

          • KingGunblader

To be 100% honest, from what I’ve seen of VIII I’m not exactly frothing at the mouth to play it, but it’s one of the few main FF games I haven’t played so I know I should give it a chance.

I don’t know why people always have to pick one or the other, though.

          • http://geekouts.blogspot.com/ miruki

Because not everyone’s rich and can buy everything they want? Maybe? That’s usually why I decide between things I want to buy. ;P

And honestly, 8 is just not worth the money to me. I only played it because a friend had it and lent it to me back whenever – and I’m (kinda) glad I played it (and got over my heavy triple triad addiction sometime later) but I have no intention of ever going back there. It just didn’t leave me with a warm and fuzzy feeling like 9 did. 6 and 9 have been the only ones I bought digitally on PSN when I bought my PS3, because I really enjoyed them and thought I might play them again at some point. For 9 that point arrived last month and it made me fall in love with the game again. I really enjoyed it, so I can wholeheartedly recommend it, even tho it’s old and the battle animations are on the “a little too long” side… I just can’t bring myself to recommend 8 to anyone tho (except for triple triad maybe. ;>). Sorry. :P

        • KingGunblader

I actually prefer the XIII style of Gunblade. :P But at five bucks a pop it can’t hurt to grab both.

          • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

Yeah, you should definetely give them a shot .w.

        • http://geekouts.blogspot.com/ miruki

I’m neither a “fan” nor mean.

          If anyone’s mean, then it’s Squall. :P

It’s not that I don’t like 8, but it has a lot of frustrating bits and a rather annoying main couple, neither of them being a nice person… I found the characters & the world of FF9 just a whole lot more charming – yeah, it’s cuter and not as cool as 8, but god, I cried shitloads of tears at the end while for 8 I just felt glad it’s finally over. Sorry, for having a preference. (6 is my favourite btw :P)

          • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

Well it’s fine having a preference, it’s just not okay to discourage someone into trying new things, I personally didn’t liked IX’s final boss, unsatisfying ending, no post credits clip and uneffective items. In VIII I found Squall and Laguna’s dual stories more interesting, the story wasn’t too predictably obvious, the summons were fantastic, the ending had a lot of suspense and it was worth waiting the credits, while the battle system was a love or hate situation I loved it, effective items, powerful magics and best limit breaks to date.

            *ahem*

But of course it’s my opinion, I wouldn’t dare to say/imply as a matter of fact that VIII is better than IX, it’s a matter of how each fan relates with each entry so I wouldn’t go saying to skip IX. Just sayin .w.

          • http://geekouts.blogspot.com/ miruki

            I really loved the battle system in 8, the only thing I found frustrating gameplay-wise was that my teams were constantly split up and madly mixed so I always had to requip everyone because I suddenly had three mages in one team and three meelees in the other… that always felt a little bit like a waste of time to me. ;_;

  • Go2hell66

already played and finished all of em :D

    why isn’t FFIII on sale?

  • ArOne

Are the psp FF1 and FF2 not on PSN? I only see the ps1 versions.

    • http://twitter.com/Linka13 Linka

Apparently, they never released the PSP releases of them. Same with how they never released Birth By Sleep digitally, either.

  • Ssylex

I’ll never understand why Squeenix doesn’t put Crisis Core on PSN. I want to replay that game on Vita so badly…

    • TiredOfMyOldUsername

Who know… SE have the habit of not giving what peoples are asking for lately.

    • Go2hell66

      Calling it now

Crisis core, birth by sleep and type 0 all in one glorious hd collection :D

    • Eilanzer

crisis core…haaa…that ending and THAT music…god…just perfect!!!!!!!

      • Ssylex

One of my great shames in life is that I only got about three-quarters of the way through the game, set it down to play something else, and never picked it back up. And then I sold my PSP for a PSPGo, and could never finish it. Ugh.

Never set down a JRPG until you’ve completed it. It should be a law.

  • http://www.fogalchemist.com/ caleb1993

Awesome sale. Just missing FFIII though… Why Square, why?

    • Sylveria

Cause the only US version of 3 is for the DS.

      • Drew Attridge

PSP version of 3 was released in the US too.

        • Sylveria

Ah, PSN only over here. That would explain why I didn’t know. Pardon my mistake.

Could be because the only means of getting FF3 for a Sony platform in the US is through the PSN they feel no need to discount it. No physical copy competition, relatively recent release all things considered, no reason to drop the price.

  • Vitor Duarte

Europe has had this for the past 2 weeks.

  • Syed Sameer Rahman

If I pay for Duodecim through my PS3, can I play it on the PS3 as well?

    • ddh819

i dont think so. i think you can only download psp games to the ps3, then transfer them to the psp via usb

    • ddh819

but i would love for there to be a way to play psp/vita games on your ps3, even if it meant you could only do it if you actually owned a psp/vita.

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

    !

A wild, digital version of [Dissidia 012 [duodecim] Final Fantasy (PSP)] has appeared!

    Lex throws his wallet!

    Success…?

  • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

Almost tempted to get FF2, just to finally play it for more than five minutes. How much is it, $3?

  • Kevin Lor

Wanna buy 8 and 9 but I keep restarting 7 half way through 2nd disc. Keep doing this every 6-12 months lol ><

  • Mazdian

Hm, maybe I’ll pick up Final Fantasy Tactics. Not too sure about Dissidia. I don’t usually play multiplayer, so is it still worth it?

    • http://www.siliconera.com/ Ishaan

If you get Dissidia, make sure it’s Dissidia 012. And yes, there’s plenty of single-player variety to keep you occupied for a long, long time. It’s a really, really good fighting game, too. Imagine something in the crazy Advent Children style (running up buildings, flying all over the place etc.) in a 1-on-1 3D fighter. The arenas are all designed around that style, too.

  • Demeanor

dissidia 2 for Vita might be nice to have…

  • TheExile285

Dissidia 012 for $10 is a steal. I’ll be picking up FF4CC, FFVI & FFIX

  • Strain42

I think I might pick up FFIX while it’s on sale. I love that game, and it’d be great to play it again.

    • Raltrios

      Mah boi!

  • http://twitter.com/Nates4Christ Nate

I’ve never played a final fantasy game. I’m looking forward to my first being the upcoming mmo for ps3. However I do have a vita and I’ve heard 6 and 7 are good. I just don’t which 6 though. I’ve heard there is a US 6 and a Japan 6 so I don’t know what is what. What stinks is I’ve heard 6 is the best, but I don’t know which one.

    • http://gamgambit.tumblr.com/ Thespian Treasure Hunter ♢

No, there used to be a diferent FF III for US (FFVI) and FF III for Japan (Actual FFIII) but that was on the SNES era so you shouldn’t be confused about it now, pick FFVI and enjoy :3

    • syrup16g

FFVI was titled FFIII in the US when it first came out because earlier FFs weren’t released in the states yet. Today if anyone says FFIII they aren’t referring to FFVI, but FFIII (re-released on DS.) There is only one FF ever revered to as VI though, which you should get.

  • fds_nextdart

Man…if only I could have a way of exporting my 150+ hours of EU Duodecim to the American version (along with the DLCs I got from the other Square Enix LEs) I’d be buying it right now~.

  • Sebastian Lothian

    Got my 012.

  • shimrion

SInce both versions of FFTactics are the same price, are there any huge differences that would make one more preferable to the other?

    • Sylveria

War of the Lions on PSP has some ungodly slow-down with special attacks and spells. It’s really the worst I’ve ever seen on the device. But it also has some additional classes and other fixes and tweaks. Personally, having played both, I’d go with the original.
