Nintendo Kirby Triple Deluxe Sold Out In Japan

By Ishaan . January 17, 2014 . 9:00am

Last week, Nintendo released Kirby Triple Deluxe in Japan, and the game sold 214,208 copies in its first week on store shelves.

Sales tracker Media Create reports that the game sold through 92.02% of its shipment, meaning that the game was more or less sold out at retail. For comparison, the previous Kirby game, Kirby’s Return to Dreamland, sold 136,811 copies, with a sell-through of 49.88%.

It would appear that Triple Star Deluxe has performed better than the last few Kirby titles on all fronts. How it continues to sell in the weeks to come should be interesting to see.

Correction: A previous version of this report mentioned an incorrect sell-through figure for Triple Star Deluxe. We accidentally copied the wrong figure into our internal spreadsheet. Sorry about that!

Now the NA release will have a kawaii Kirby!

  • ZnTxn

    Japanese Kirby is hardcore too!

  • FivePointedTheStar

About 50% of 430,000 copies sold within the first week of the game coming out. That’s good, right?

    • Guest

Yes, pretty good specially in January where sales are so-so, I’d dare to say the game is going to have good legs and it’s going to continue selling all the shipped copies. Hopefully time proves me wrong and it ends up joining the million seller club :)

  • ハジマリデス

    It’s 92% not 49%

  • Just Tim

Can we just rechristen this into “IIIDX”, or “3DX”?

  • anthony apduhan

So there is hope for Nintendo afterall…

  • Rytan

This is the only game coming out the first half of the year that I actually want to get on launch. I love Kirby too much to wait. Everything else can wait until end of the year sales.

  • Zache

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land had an initial 49.88% sellthrough. Triple Deluxe sold 92% of its shipment.

@disqus_gYbazQ6Izf:disqus @ronin4life:disqus Yeah, I accidentally copied the sell-through figure into the wrong cell in my spreadsheet. Sorry about that, it’s fixed now! Thanks for pointing it out, you two.

  • ronin4life

Like others have said, I heard it sold 98% at Nintendo Everything…
Why the discrepancy? Who is right?
    I AM SO CONFUSED. ?[]?/
