New Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn Screenshots Show Its More Realistic Visuals

By Ishaan . April 22, 2014 . 7:50am

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn is headed to PlayStation 3 in North America as a downloadable title, and Bandai Namco have shared new screenshots to pore over.

Gundam Reborn will contain Official Mode (re-enact battles from the Gundam universe, including famous scenes) and Ultimate Mode (utilize Mobile Suits from any timeline through various missions). There are over 100 different Mobile Suits in the game.

Bandai Namco discussed aspects of Gundam Reborn at their Gamer’s Day event two weeks ago, and mentioned that, while the second and third Dynasty Warriors: Gundam games were more cel-shaded, this one features a more realistic style, as the team felt that the cel-shaded visuals didn’t capture the essence of the Mobile Suits.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn will be available this July.

I wish i had enough space on my ps3 to get all these psn only games and that downloadable only games didn’t have a 50$ price tag.. Like the one piece musou games..

I think at this point it’s cheaper to trade your console in for a 500GB one than continue to buy games on disc.

      • Luis Es.

From what i’ve seen on a lot of games the price tag for digital vs retail is the same or a 10$ difference. And if i went all digital i’m sure not even 500GB would be enough unless i just backed up all the shit i wasn’t planning to play for a while and deleted it off of the ps3.

        • Exkaiser

          That’s what most people do.

      • DoctorButler

Yeah, have fun losing access to all of your games in a few years.

    • Aristides

This game is coming to Europe as a physical copy so I recommend you import. I’m importing the European Vita version XP

  • Pdugna

How did the Cel Shading not capture the essence of the MS? They’re in a freaking anime it looked right.

  • andref

The cell shaded look of the past games looked good but I have to admit if the ingame visuals are the same as in the trailer, this game will look really good

  • Brion Valkerion

Eh DWG3 had amazing graphics for the mobile suits so I don’t agree with it did not capture it、but I can see what they are trying to do I guess. Want to get this and support the franchise but I honestly heard a lot of things were just downgrades of stuff they did better in the previous 3 games.

    This is Great news!

  • Nicholas Perry

Why don’t we ever get the Gundam games with actual depth? :/

    • Sav

    I really liked DW3′s style. Oh well…

  • Sav

so only usa is getting it as a psn download?

since when is europe a bigger/better market than usa?

i’m glad to see the new style of visuals.

will the soundtrack be the same as the jap version?

    • Reanau

Probly because its not Call of Duty in America.

  • kregano

I wish this would get a PC port, since Dynasty Warriors is already coming to PC. Maybe a successful Gundam game on Steam might open doors for more Gundam games getting out of Japan.

  • Exkaiser

It’s called “Gundam Reborn,” but we don’t even get a shot of the Reborns Gundam? Bandai, what are you doing.

  • Learii

why why WHYYYY so much good games coming out this summer

  • 愛憎

As a huge fan of 1, 2, and 3–and as someone who put over a hundred hours into 2 and 3–I personally do not recommend this game. It’s not bad, but it has a lot of issues. One of my biggest problems is the insane amount of grinding necessary just to unlock characters, which was a relatively easy procedure in past games (apart from relationship grinding, but that still didn’t take that much time). A lot of the changes they made to the mechanics just don’t feel properly fleshed out, and waiting for the next iteration of the series shouldn’t take too long this time. I recommend waiting for that one.

Played this one for while, was going to post similar comment. Big fan of 3rd. Not so much for this. And it really didn’t add much in core gameplay. I’ll rather continue to play the 3rd.

I never thought I would go back to playing 3, but I did…

I can’t wait but I think I may hold off till it drops a bit

  • monkey king

Bit sad that it’s only on ps3 since I own all the others on 360, but all I care about now is getting my hands on my beloved Impulse.

Also quite an epic trailer, good music/editing.

  • isotrex

Wow! I love the trailer. :D Also, it’s weird that it is for PS3 only. Most of the series are multiplatform. Anyway, looking forward for this game. :)
