Currently, Dragon Quest, Kingdom Hearts, and Final Fantasy are Square Enix’s three pillars. President Yoichi Wada wants to expand this number to eight.

Unlike its predecessors, which were all developed by Chunsoft, the original DQVI was developed by Heartbeat — the studio that also worked on Dragon Quest VII for the PS1. The remake is, of course, being handled by ArtePiazza.
We haven’t heard much about Dragon Quest VI, but that’s going to change real soon. Square Enix will have a playable build of Realms of Reverie inside their Tokyo Game Show booth.
Speaking of ESRB leaks, Dragon Quest Wars was also subtly confirmed for the West.
We’ve known about Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie for DS for a while but this is the first time in a while we’ve seen actual artwork for it.
Dragon Quest IX is a mega hit with over 3.5 million copies sold in Japan alone. A blockbuster title like DQIX should get an international release, right?
