After a couple of Ys Books I&II ports Japan is going to jump into Ys Seven and it’s a huge jump compared to the classics.
A batch of media came with the release dates for Ys Chronicles I & II and Ys Seven. Neither game has been confirmed for North America, but Ys Chronicles I & II might be marginally easier for importers to pick up.
Falcom continues to supply the PSP with RPGs. Both Ys games announced at the Ys fair are being made for PSP.
Ys I&II Chronicles is another remake of Ys I&II. The PSP version is based on a PC version from 2001. Falcom will enhance the eight year old game with new graphics and music. No [...]
In attendance at last night’s Press Start Symphony of Games taking place at Shibuya’s Bunkamura Orchard Hall were a number of Japan’s videogame music luminaries. Koji Kondo took the stage to introduce Super Mario Galaxy, Nobuo Uematsu offered a pre-Final Fantasy Square medley, Motoi Sakuraba was there to represent Baten Kaitos, and for a [...]
Interchannel and Falcom are publishing the Nintendo DS Ys remake on February 28, 2008. But it won’t be coming out alone. Ys II is coming out on the same day, which sort of makes sense since the two games are often bundled together. Except, this time they are sold separately as full priced games. I’ll [...]
More is better right? If that’s your philosophy then the Legend of Heroes VI: Sora no Kiseki should be the best PSP RPG around since it comes on two UMDs.
I have mixed feelings about the Legend of Heroes series, the battle system is kind of neat, but the stories in the first two were cookie [...]
Mastiff sent over an e-mail saying they replenished supplies of Gurumin: A Monsterous Adventure with reprint. I never noticed a drought of the game, but if you were searching for a copy its back in the wild. Mastiff also announced that Gurumin dropped in price from $39.99 to $19.99, the same price as a greatest [...]
Legend of the Heroes III: Song of the Ocean (aka Eiyuu Densetsu Gagharv Trilogy V: Umi no Oriuta) closed the Gagharv Trilogy when it was released back in January. Falcom’s latest project in the Legend of the Heroes universe is Legend of Heroes VI: Sora no Kiseki which is scheduled to come out in Japan [...]
I’ll be the first to admit that I was a bit skeptical towards Gurumin. I’d seen videos of the game prior to purchasing it and assumed that it was broken in gameplay and relied too heavily on its cutesy presentation; I also thought the game would be an instant bore and wouldn’t be able to bring me the [...]
Nihon Falcom has always been known for its intricate storylines and deep character relationships in their respective RPGs. I remember playing Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion back when it was released and noticed just how deep each character’s relation to each other was, and even the ending sequence to the game was something [...]
