Preparing for Soulcalibur V, Namco Bandai released Soulcalibur for iOS devices. It’s like playing the arcade game with a virtual joystick… because Soulcalibur is missing the mission mode from the Dreamcast release.

Soulcalibur V is coming to consoles on January 31, 2012 and the original Soulcalibur is coming to iOS around the same time.

Soulcalibur V director, Daishi Odashima, is feeling talkative again.

“None of us wants this to be the last project. We want to do 6, 7, 8 and 9.” says producer, Hisaharu Tago.

The Player 2 costume design for Patroklos has changed yet again. Additionally, director Odashima tosses out a few more thoughts on Soulcalibur V.

Odashima also posted some more art from the older games, while restating that he still couldn’t comment on whether or not Taki will be in Soulcalibur V.

Game director, Daishi Odashima, said a few days ago on his Twitter feed that you would see hints of new combat systems in the trailer.

“Well you know, she’s getting a little old,” Soulcalibur V director, Daishi Odashima, says.

Hwang will be MIA for the third Soulcalibur game in a row.

Daishi Odashima says it’s because a lot of the AI behaviour in Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny was manually input by the game’s balancers.

Soulcalibur director, Daishi Odashima, wanted to call the new game “Soul Edge 2,” but Namco Bandai wouldn’t allow it.
