Help Capcom Design Mega Man Legends 3

During the initial announcement of Mega Man Legends 3, Capcom USA hinted that Mega Man fans would be given a chance to be part of the game’s development process and interact directly with the dev team. Now, they’ve announced how.

To begin with, Capcom have a new job vacancy at their San Mateo, California headquarters: the Mega Man Developer Room Community Liaison. This position is going to be filled by someone who’s a Mega Man fan and verbally fluent in both Japanese and English.

The Community Liaison will be responsible for managing the relationship and translation between the Japanese and English versions of Capcom’s Mega Man Legends 3 Developer Room. Anyone can apply for the position, so if you’re interested in trying, see more details here.

If you don’t get chosen for the job, don’t worry — Capcom still want regular fans to be part of the development process. The first example of this collaboration went live earlier today.

Nine Capcom artists, including Mega Man creator, Keiji Inafune, have drafted designs for the new heroine in Legends 3. You can help out by voting on your favourite. There are even profiles for all the developers behind the drafts that you can read.

Even without screenshots or footage, Mega Man Legends 3 certainly is interesting. For one, the game looks like it’ll be heavy on the fan-service, which makes sense considering its background, and for another, this is easily Capcom’s most note-worthy community effort to date.
