New game Soulcalibur game director, Daishi Odashima, isn’t ready to start talking in detail about the title just yet, but following in the footsteps of his colleague, Tekken series director, Katsuhiro Harada, he’s been fairly active on Twitter nonetheless.

The picture above is a snap of all the planners involved with the new Soulcalibur game. Odashima had it taken on December 28th, which was their last day of work before the holidays. Apparently, Odashima kept himself busy enough through his vacation, however.

Despite the fact that he doesn’t speak English, Odashima has been talking to fans of the series and taking their thoughts into account with the help of a translator. He says he spent New Year’s Eve reading his followers’ comments.

For what it’s worth, he seems to realize that Soulcalibur 2 and Soulcalibur 3 are the most popular games in the series. “I thought SC2 and SC3 is the most popular but I guess SC1 is popular too,” Odashima tweeted this past week. He revealed that Xiang-Hua was his main character in the original Soulcalibur.

Odashima brought the subject of guest characters in the new Soulcalibur up as well. “My personal opinions on what to expect from guest characters; It’s popular(from any genre), Uses weapons; Matches the SC atmosphere,” he wrote in a separate post.

“There is still a chance that the guest characters people suggest might make it into the game. Whether we will have a guest character at all this time is undecided tho,” he stated before signing off for the day.
