As of August 2011, Konami have over 10 million registered users playing their social games across various platforms, the publisher reports. This follows a story last month, where Konami reported a significant increase in revenue thanks to their social games.
Dragon Collection, a game about collecting Dragon Cards and battling rival players on smartphones and the GREE platform, has over 4 million registered users. Earlier this year, Dragon Collection was inducted into the GREE Hall of Fame for GREE apps. So successful is the game that it even has a manga serialization running in Weekly Shounen Magazine, pictured below:
Sengoku Collection, which takes place during Japan’s Warring States period, is another successful game with over 2 million registered users. Konami recently released a version of the game for smartphones. A third game, Professional Baseball Dream Nine, has held the #2 spot on the GREE rankings for 17 consecutive weeks, and has over a million users. It’s even licensed by the Nippon Professional Baseball league.
At the Tokyo Game Show next week, Konami plan to host an event commemorating the success of their social games and the 10 million users mark.
