As promised, Phantasy Star Online 2 producer, Satoshi Sakai, is ready to deliver details on the game’s closed beta test soon. A media briefing will be held on March 26th (that’s Monday) at 1:30 PM Japan time, which will reveal more information. As previously reported, the closed beta will allow for somewhere in the range of 100,000 participants.
Sakai also showed off a closed beta video on the Phantasy Star blog, which you can watch above, and briefly touched upon a small part of the game’s story, introducing one of the NPCs you’ll interact with. This is Xion (pronounced “Shion,” like the Kingdom Hearts character):
Sakai says that Xion speaks in an odd way, and gives players something called a “Matter Board,” which plays an important role in the game’s story.
