Pier Solar HD, a remake of a Sega Genesis RPG released in 2010, is currently in development for multiple platforms and is planned for release this Spring. Eventually, developer Watermelon say, the game could end up on Nintendo 3DS as well.

Speaking with Nintendo Enthusiast, Watermelon president Tulio Goncalves discussed Pier Solar HD’s second-screen features on Wii U.

“On Wii U, we’re definitely putting the second screen to good use, a feature that will be exclusive of that platform,” Goncalves said. He added: “Well, maybe not for long if we end up making it to the 3DS, but that’s for later.”

Pier Solar HD is tentatively planned for release on Wii U in April. The game is also in development for PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Android, Ouya and Sega Dreamcast.
